Vic Chesnutt Portrait

I moved to Athens Georgia in 1986 and became very good friends with Vic. At the time he was in a band called the La Di Das and his solo career was preparing to take off. Amazingly talented, endlessly charming and as unique of a character as anyone is ever likely to meet.
This is one of my favorites because I really captured the essence of the Vic that I knew and loved.
I’ve include a few shots of the piece’s progression. The earliest one I love because Vic looks as much like Brian Eno as he does himself ( I think he would have liked that or at least provided a brilliant quote ). The one with his hands in outline form I really like too and it was suggested to me by more than one ‘critic’ that I should have stopped there. Where the hell we’re you when that was still an option?
