Will The Blue Circles Be Unbroken

This is a piece I created for my dad’s 80th birthday. It’s an artistic direction that I was interested to go in but usually got detoured along the way. Nothing like a solid deadline to force completion of a project. Amazingly enough I found myself to be very pleased with the results which I’m often not and just don’t know when to stop which makes it impossible to finish.

The piece is made up mostly of wood with some metal washers thrown in here and there. All the rusted and patina parts are wood that I put a metal finish on. The piece can change with atmospheric conditions as rust truly does never sleep. I don’t sleep much either (and I’m not even that rusty) but I do come up with a lot of ideas while trying to achieve said state.

Thanks dad.
